Trung Ta has worked for defense and aerospace companies such as Hughes Aircraft, Boeing and Raytheon for 35+ years as Principal Engineer and as Project Manager for the last 20 years. As Project Manager, Trung has led groups of engineers to design airborne radar systems, electronic systems and space based systems to protect our warfighters and the United States while managing managed budgets in tens of million dollars. He retired at the end of 2019.

Known in the Southern California communities as an educator and a community leader, Trung has been dedicating his time and passion to the community for over 30 years. He was the Founder and Founding Chair of the Vietnamese Cultural Center, Vice-Chair of Hong Bang Vietnamese School, Chair of Viet Olympiad, Member of Measure C & M Citizens’ Oversight Committee Coast Community College District, Executive Vice-President of Vietnamese American Aerospace Professionals Association (VAAPA), Vice-Chair of Saint Anselm’s Cross-Cultural Community Center and held many leadership positions.

Trung is currently Chair of the Oversight Board of Vietnamese American Federation of Southern California, Vice-Chair External Affairs of Lac Hong Vietnamese Traditional Performing Art Group, VAAPA Advisor and Chair of VAAPA MathCounts Competition.
